Do try this at home!

Denise Armstrong, Heart Research UK’s Lifestyle Officer said, “Looking after your heart shouldn’t be dull or time consuming.  We didn’t want another boring health event, making people feel guilty about eating chocolate once in a while.  This event was very interactive, encouraging women to take part and try something new, with dance demonstrations, healthy cookery recipes, free practical advice on managing stress and much more."

Look good and feel great

We also know that looking good helps women feel better about themselves and the fashion shows, makeovers, hair styling and beauty treatments were some of the most popular stands. Plus there was no need to feel guilty about splashing your cash as this event raised more than £3,000 for Heart Research UK to help us continue to fund pioneering research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.”

Try something new

Activities included; belly dancing and salsa dancing, fashion shows, makeovers, manicures, holistic therapy including indian head massage, reiki, reflexology, spine checks and postural advice, healthy heart consultations, cookery demonstrations with recipes and samples to taste, hair care advice and styling demonstrations.

Expert advice

Experts provided practical advice covering subjects such as; giving up smoking, career advice, life coaching, fashion and beauty tips, managing stress, investment advice and much more!
