A number of features have been incorporated within this website make it as accessible to a maximum number of users as possible while keeping the site exciting and innovative in design.

This page has been created to explain how the website works. It includes information about features that have been added to the site to increase accessibility, how the pages of the site are structured, how the navigational system works, and descriptions of some of the most useful features on the site.

No important content has been included in any multi-media features on this website. Where multi-media content has been used it has been primarily to assist the sites look and feel.

Site structure

Heart Research UK website is composed of pages that are devided into three main sections. The first section includes the primary navigation for the site, where you can access areas of content. This primary navigation menu remains constant throughout the site.

The second section contains the main content of the page. There is a heading at the beginning of the content on each page. The subsections of each area of site are consistently accessed from the sub link navigation on the right hand side of every page.

The third section contains the footer navigation links, where you can access administrative and informational pages such as policies and accessibility information. The footer navigation links remain constant throughout the site.

Site navigation

The navigation includes links meaningfully labelled and placed in a prominent position throughout the site. These links are present on every page of the site.

The main navigation links are placed at the top of the page while the footer navigation links that follow the content on each page remain constant throughout the site. The subsections of each area of site are consistently accessed from the sub link navigation on the right hand side of every page.

Required Form Fields: All the fields must be completed for the form to be submitted. A warning appears to indicate which form fields haven't been filled.
