A daughter's leap of faith

Thirty eight year old Tina Hicks from Cornwall took part in the tandem skydive in August 2005. Heart Research UK is a charity close to Tina's heart as she lost her mother and grandmother to heart disease and has friends and colleagues who have suffered heart problems.

Tina is terrified of flying and her main challenge was staying inside the plane as it climbed to 13,000 feet - she was only too pleased to jump out of the plane when her time came! As Tina raised well over £2,000 she qualified for the “Special Tandem” skydive, which means that two cameramen captured the whole experience on video and on landing she received a signed certificate and a bottle of champagne.
